well, they'll always try to sting you for cash for starters - "would you like to upgrade?" - blegh. I'm afraid that its kind of a necessary evil, however as very often they build redundancy in - ie, newer versions cant use documents etc created in older versions. Finally, each new version has a more comprehensive data capture approach, meaning 'big brother' gets to know more about you with every release...
